Howdy from Texas! Need help ID'ing this truck
Hey Gang,
I'm looking for some help in ID'ing a truck. It was my Fathers back when I was young. I've dug up a few pictures of the old girl.
I learned to drive on this truck but he sold it about 18 years ago. I'm looking to pick one up and build a tribute, but want to make sure I'm getting the right one. I'm certain it's a '66, but when I look at pictures online the dash never seems to match. Dad's had the round speedometer in it.
Any help is appreciated:

Another:
When he painted it (with a roller!)
And from the front with my Mom and little sister.
Thanks for looking.

Round speedometer, steel instrument cluster bezel: 1965/66 F100/250 Standard Cabs and 4WD & F350 Custom Cabs.
1965/66 F100/250 Custom Cabs & Rangers have a plastic chrome instrument cluster bezel with a 'sweep speedometer.'
Body side mouldings: 1965/66 F100/250 Styleside pickups. Mostly installed on Custom Cabs & Rangers. But this truck appears to be neither.
Painted grille is 1966 Standard Cab. Painted front bumper was standard equipment on Standard & Custom Cabs/Rangers. Chrome bumper was optional.
Emblems are missing from front fenders. Rear step bumper is from a 1968/79. Fuel tank in bedside, front mounted tire carrier are aftermarket.
Low Mount "Swing Lock" mirrors: 1973/79 F100/350. The arms had to be bent to get them to sit correctly, a common occurrence.

Sharp21: Welcome from another Albertan!
ND has given you the goods, it's a '65 or '66 2WD, the grille is '66, but the '65 & '66 Twin I Beam trucks SHOULD have the F100 0r F250 Emblems on the fenders, just under the cowl, so someone has been doing some mods on the ol girl
Hope you are able to find a solid one to build in Tejas, lord knows most of the ones up here have plenty of tinworm

Thanks guys! Suspicions confirmed.
I wouldn't put it past Dad to make whatever mods he saw fit. When he painted the truck green he first repaired the rust using tin that was shaped and riveted on. Then as he finished painting the house he just kept on and painted the truck too!
I also saw him lift the engine out once using a tripod built with three logs lashed together.
