Moose, on your XRF ball joints, did they both have the C- clip on top? I bought a new set, haven't installed yet, but both upper and lower ball joints have the C- clips. Stock one only have one, don't remember off hand which one has it. Thanks,
Chet

C-clips came for both upper and lower but only used it on the lower one also (didn't fit on the upper IIRC). No problems so far.

Thanks guys, that's a relief. I haven't changed them because I didn't want to get it a part then find out it wouldn't work. Ordered from the tire Club. Time to get to work. Just has to cool down. 108 today.

With the Dodge kit it's possible, especially the 2003-up, because there is no longer a disconnect between the front wheels and the transfer case and the front drive system turns all the time whether 4x4 is selected or not.

With the Ford, the selectable hubs allow free-spin already when "turned-out". There is no appreciable drag difference between the wheel bearing styles so all a person is doing when buying either brand of fixed spindle kit (Dynatrac or Spyntec) is getting rid of the inferior hub bearing assembly and the oft-problematic stock selectable locking hubs that don't always disengage right away or unless they're tapped with a hammer.

Okay, I've just about finished it up. All I have left is to bleed the brakes. Thanks for all the help!
