Leveling Kit

I am trying to locate a "Leveling kit" for my 2001 Excursion.
Everywhere I go they tell me the minimum lift is 4" and approx. $1500.00
I know people with F250 & F350 super dutys that had leveling kits installed and was only approx. $500.00.

Wouldn't the same kit for the super dutys work on the Excursion?

HELP!!

Wink Leveling Kit

I got a 2" excursion leveling kit from Off Road Warehouse and some Bilstein shocks.
their number is 800-341-7757
the Leveling kit is $225 and works good. I installed it myself but I would pay the shop by me $75-100 anyday before I would do it again. You need 2 jacks to do it and they don't give you any instructions. The real bitch was getting the alignment pins to line up again, but we got it. I went to 295/75/16 Tera-Grabbers with a set of Eagle Alloys and I really like it alot! My Excursion sits the way it should be. It's not too high but it's not stock either. you can tell it's lifted.

Leveling Kit

If I understand you right, your X is sitting like the factory ones (in regards of leveling) but 2" lifted?

That's what I am looking for, of course I hate the looks of trucks which are "sitting" higher in the front and deeper in the rear.

I am considering a 4" lift so that I can put some 35's on mine.
Any ideas about brand name shocks, so that the ride quality stays pretty much the same?

Actually the kit I installed just lifts the front 2" so that it sets level with the rear. Not higher that the rear, just level since the front sets lower. you can also get a 2' block for the rear if you want to lift the rear and keep your truck at the same angle as stock. They are pretty resonable. I would suggest calling Off Road Warehouse. I don't think you could go much any bigger that 305/75-16 tires with that amount of lift. The 295's have plenty of clearance unless you have factory ford contoure mud flaps like mine, then you will need to trim them just a touch on the inside because they are pretty thick. It only took a minute each side to trim. I have to install my bilstein shocks still, but I know the larger tires really improved the ride alot.

Hey bikeman1,
I'm thinking of doing the same. Sounds like you went with the Edge kit. Did the leveling kit change the ride? Would like to see some pics if you have any. Also, did you get any front end vibration in 4wh?
