Another trip report.

We got back from about 3k miles roundtrip on Sunday. I have been super busy because our back yard flooded while we were gone and we have a mess. Anyway, the truck did great puling the 5th wheel. It was my first really long pull with it. Some things I noticed just for info if anyone is interested. While towing, soot percentage stays really low and even decreases. However, right on time it will regen at 500 miles. Usually when the regen started at 500 miles, the soot % was in the low teens. I ran around 65mph and got better than 10mpg average for the trip. EGTs are normally in the 800 range. The highest oil temp I saw was 218 pulling a moderate grade. The trans temp stays around 204 and the main coolant at about 198-204. Secondary coolant seems to hover around 125. I hope this helps anyone who doesn't know what to expect when they are towing a moderately heavy trailer. The one thing I notice that is the same as my 6.0 is how it seems to vibrate when going from a dead stop. I read somewhere that it is the the leafsprings.

Heavier loads sometimes change the driveline angle. It is most likely the cause and it is the rear pinion u-joint.
