88 e150 chirping sound inside right fender?
What is inside the right fender on a 88 e150 that could make a chirping sound like a bird when hitting bumps of on mildly rough pavement?
This sounds a lot like a belt chirp and I had that problem but that is fixed..
I have heard the chirp once when closing the passenger door. I kicked the tire and couldn't get the sound to repeat itself. I drove it with the hubcap off and that's not it.. A guess might be a metal bracket of some kind bolted on from inside the fender well.
Since I changed the front springs and shocks, at times I get a loose vibrating sound from the same area, if that makes sense.. The chirp was there before that work.
There is a street near my house that is 25mph and used to be double laned. The city added a bicycle lane and now when driving on that road the right front tire most often runs on the seam of the two lanes. You don't feel it inside the van but that is just about the only time I hear the vibration sound..
I am thinking about he Vacuum canister for the heater system. Maybe it has a metal bracket bolted to something? The vibration sound doesn't sound like metal, more like a plastic vibrating against something..
Any ideas what i might look for before I remove the front fender to do an inspection?
Thanks Anna

Thanks for the reply. i went to the mountains for 4 days and just got back. The van did great except for the squeaking. It was really bad on the 25 miles of bumpy gravel roads. that excursion didn't change the sound or frequency any either. It sounds like a loose bracket of perhaps fender bolt but all the fender bolts are tight. I reci3ently had the AC condenser box out and there was nothing loose in that area. The sound is defiantly outside the van and in the right front fender area. Only the once when closing the door did i hear it other then when driving..
It isn't a wheel bearing because they were just cleaned and repacked 5 or 6 months ago and it only happens when hitting bumps, or gravel roads..
