Hey all, so rolling off my original thread with my broke down 74 F250 last year, that is all fixed up now and running. When I was going through all of that fun, I came across another complete 460 engine for $100, so I bought it. The thought now is to take that engine and tear it down and build a new one to replace the one currently in the truck. Something a little more beefy
My question to you all is, can I take some of your time over the next number of months to get step by step direction until complete? One step at a time, baby steps. Never done a build like this before so...but that said, I am not a moron so I could follow along...lol.
Yeah I could go buy a book or some damn thing but you guys know that folks like you on forums like this is by far the best way to go....much more experience and full of great tips on what to do and most importantly what not to do!
Yep it is. I guess the main reason to want to swap s so I can continue to drive the truck until I literally drive it into the garage and swap motors....least amount of downtime.
Okay guys...what am I missing? 161 views and barely one response? Nobody Ora few of you don't want to chime in with a step by step on what to do next? Maybe I wasn't clear on my ask. I am not looking for anyone to write me a book up front. What I am looking for is to get tips, advice as I go along in the process. So, I will start by completely stripping down the spare engine I have. Then I will post on here what I have done. Then hopefully I will get info from the group as to what to do next, IE, hot tank, not hot tank, blah blah. Once I have done that next step, I will post again on my progress...etc. All the way until I post the video of it running, thanks to all of you!
