Mid '90s Lightning Questions

I've always loved the early to mid 90's generation of Ford and as a kid I wanted a Lightning. My main question is what is a reasonable price range for a 1994 Ford Lightning with 125-150,000 or so miles, "normal" wear for the age, etc. I've seen one recently in great condition with less than 90,000 miles for $14,000 and another one with 150,000 plus miles and rough for $4000.

Also, how does a salvage title affect that price expectation? I know, it's not good, but let's say it was salvaged for hail or something cosmetic and has been fixed but still has a salvage title. I'm curious how the salvage title affect me as a possible owner.

$4000 is about right for one with 150k miles on it and in good shape. One with 90K on it, I would expect to pay around $6-7k, bone stock and in nice condition. With a salvage title, you just have find out what is wrong with it, and it wont take very much at all for an insurance company to total one of these out because of their age.

If it has been repaired and still has a salvage title, then it's likely that it may not be able to be registered until the title status has been changed to "Rebuilt". Some states require it to pass an inspection before they will change the title status and allow it to be registered.

Thank you Blurry94! I loved those trucks the moment I saw them on the road. I was a high school kid probably about that time so you know how those first memories are on an aging man. HA!

Another question for you, was the double pipe rear bumper a factor option, a one year thing, aftermarket? I seem to remember the first time I saw them it was a red truck with red pipe bumpers but the one I'm looking at as the traditional looking Ford rear bumper but in white.

Yes, the tube bumpers were factory options.
