New 2016 F350 work truck!

Well, the new truck is in! It drives and rides great. Has adequate power, but definitely not a power house. I'm sure glad we went with the 4.30s and not the 3.73s. Averaging about 10.1 mpg at 70mph. I knew it would be bad, but damn.. I know it's about the least aerodynamic combo with the DRW service bed and ladder rack, so can't complain too much. What I can complain about is that the dealer didn't add the trailer brake controller or receiver hitch, so that has to be added. But my sales lady is trying to get it sorted out. But anyways, it's an awesome truck! Can't wait to get it all loaded up and organized.

2016 F350 4x4 ESOF
6.2 w/ 4.30s
XL with power windows and locks
Vinyl seat and floor
upfitter switches
SYNC

mileage will get better.. its NEW... but the Brick front and rear is not an airplane shape.

but than No current F 250/350 is.

but my last trip.. truck/load/trailer = 17,000 pounds and averaged 9.5mpg over 2,000 miles of hills, West Virginia, Virginia, North and South Carolina.

but I also do 60... as anything above will drive it below 8. but my trailer is 11 feet tall

Let us know how you like it when you have all the weight in it. I am curious to see if your findings are the same as mine.

Not sure what your findings are.. Lol. But I got it loaded up this morning with all the work stuff. If I had to guess, it's around 1500lbs. Really couldn't tell much of a difference from when it was empty. It's gonna be slow either way, but it didn't get any slower. Haha.

I loaded mine up with 3000lbs of tools and could tell a big difference. Even with the 4:30's it was a turd.

Oh ok. Well I've heard multiple folks say that these trucks wake up after 1000-2000 miles. I guess I'll see if that's the case. If not, I have an Edge tuner from my old truck that should liven it up a little. I have noticed that this truck really runs a lot more like it should in Tow/Haul mode, so I've been running it like that today and it makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

It takes a while for the transmission to "learn in" it's shifting pattern. The truck will wake up in the first 5k miles. Mine did.

Good to hear! Being a little more lively would be nice, but I've driven heavy utility bed trucks before, so I knew what to expect. It might be slow, but it's gonna be an awesome, organized work truck compared to my filled-to-the-brim F150 that I had to dig to find what I needed.

All loaded up

Well, truck is loaded. I was hoping for a little more extra space, but all tools and supplies are on the truck, so there shouldn't be any "oh *****! I forgot the ..." moments. Lol. Super excited!

Awesome setup. I like the storage of that setup, and the full size rack is awesome. Now go get it dirty! Lol

I assume you're a plumber, or just do general construction type work? My dad is a plumber although he's winding down as he approaches 60. His work truck is an excursion and its horribly unorganized. I bust his chops constantly and he's always frustrated looking for stuff but won't keep a truck organized. A dirty work truck and an unorganized one are two different things. His is both LOL

I work on swimming pools and hot tubs. So plumbing and electrical mainly. Yeah, my old F150 was always a mess. So glad to finally be organized.

nice. yea nothing beats an organized truck, or shop/anything else really. there's no reason for people (like my dad) that just throw tools in the back at the end of a job and drive off, meaning tools are in different spots every time they're used. i refuse to ride in his excursion or go grab any tools from it lol.
