I'm new here since I just purchased my first Expy, after looking at used for about 6 months. I took it home Friday & will finish up the deal Monday. I bought a 1999 Eddie Bauer from a franchised Ford dealer with 72K miles loaded with every option including the TV/video entertainment system & the 5.4L engine for $13.8K. This dealer originally sold the vehicle to the owner who just traded it in to the same dealer. The previous owner really took care of this vehicle. The interior is perfect as is the exterior. Runs & drives like new. I am finalizing the deal 8-18-03 & am trying to decide which warranty to purchase. My choices are:
PLAN 12/12000 24/24000
Powertrain $1115 $1615
Base $1225 $1755
Extra $1480 $2080
Premium $1595 $2465
The Powertrain plan covers just the engine & trans.
I am leaning towards the Base plan which covers Engine, trans, front & rear wheel drive, steeering, brakes, front suspension, electrical, AC & heat.
The extra plan includes the above along with "high-tech" stuff like instrument cluster, keyless remote, etc.
The premium plam covers basically all of the above areas in more detail with more parts coverage.
I am curious what experiences any of you have had who have purchased this same vehicle with comparable mileage?
I appreciate any & all comments.
