Oxygenated alchohol
I just spent some time in Calif using the oxy-alky stuff they call fuel. Had to switch to 93 octane while I was there to even get my truck to run on it. When I got home 1300 miles later all of the seals in my fuel system were leaking and had to be replaced. I am suspicious of the gasahol thing. Does anyone have any solid information on using this stuff in older engines?

Avoid alcohol on older engines. I don't care for it in newer engines either. Except for cost there's no reason to burn alcohol except to make the farm lobby even wealthier. Alcohol absorbs moisture and is horrible for carbs.

In short- yes...MTBE ....very corrosive to conventional hoses, seals, O-rings, etc....there are actually warnings posted on all of our pumps about it (you probably missed it) but typically, if its an EFI system of for EFI system as far as parts go, you are typically ok.
