Had 08 scab 6.5 ft. bed 5.4 with 3.73 rear end towed a 29 ft. camper no problems. Now using a 13 screw 5.5 ft. bed 5.0 3.73 gears towing same trailer but this truck seems to pull with more side slop then the older truck. what gives??? Both have tow package. Do I need a rear sway bar or any other idea's. Thanks
Do you have pics of your camper hooked up that you could post?
If I were to guess, id say you probably just need more weight on the front axle. Why your old truck wasn't as sensitive is anyone's guess, but tightening up the bars is free and thats where id start.
Thunder I'm thinking along your lines about tires being the problem. As for wheelbase this truck is actually .5 inch longer then the scab from 08. and I'm using a reese weight dist. with sway control so that's not the problem. I've pulled this same trailer for many years with 4 different trucks from 250 diesels to the current 150 and never noticed this behavment, so I think I'll go with the tires. thanks all
