looking for transmission help

alright... so my question is i have a 04 f550 i pulled the motor and Tork Converter and put it into my 05 f250... Welll i got it all together but i am sure i nuked my tranny from my f250 after i put the f550 motor and Tork converter into it.....

So now My question is....

The 04 F550 has a stick shift 4wheel drive... My 05 is turn button in the cab... is there any difference from the f550 trans vs the 05 f250 trans... i can see i need to take off the transfer case off of my 05 transfer case and put it on to my 04 trans from the f550... but i know little to nothing about transmissions..

But im asking if it will work and if there is anything else i need to do???

I will bite but need a little more information. Did you nuke the trans after the install or was the trans in question before the install or it worked and now it doesn't?

The transfer case is self explanatory, manual or ESOF.

Did you have an early 04 build or late? When swapping what did you do with the processor and FICM?

Be for the install it worked just fine. only reason i even swaped my motor was because my 5 year old dropd a bolt down into the crank why i had the Hpop off or i think she did. I cant find the bolt checked the oil pan wasnt there so im going to tear down that motor to find it..

So i replaced it with a 04 not sure if its early or late 04.. But when i got it out i was going to replace my TC with the one from the 550 come to find out someone has already tryed and striped the nuts on the back of the flywheel..

I kept the ficm from the f550 and the processor from my f250...

There are some very minor differences inside the transmissions. They won't make any difference to what you're doing. The changes were from '04 to '05, the trans in an F-550 is identical to the trans in an F-250.

Alright, So then just take the 4wheel shifter off of the F550 Trans.. Bolt the Transfer case from my 05 to the 04 Trans and everything should be ok? Im still lost as to why my trans failed so hard.. But it is what it is you live you learn an im just learning.. But i much rather work on my stuff myself then take it to shops and learn nothing..

Should i take the processor from the f550 and put it to the 250???

An thanks a lot for the feedback guys..

Check the two motors and see if the ICP sensor is on the passenger side valve cover on both. If so, then it's a pretty straight forward swap. If not you'll have to do some parts swapping on the motors. You'll need the 05 PCM and TCM in the 05 truck.

Ya the ICP sensor is on the passenger side.... so thats good.. my concern is mostly about the transmission.. i know the motors match up fine the motor mounts were differnt from my 05.. My 05 had 4 bolts holding the motor to the frame.... The 04 only had 2 on both sides. The wiring fit just fine and everything matched and worked.. The motor isnt my problem...

its the trans...

its the trans right now and i know nothing about transmissions other then basic know how... i cant afford to blow out another trans lol

Well......matching the electronics helps to eliminate "stupid" problems that might crop up. The 04 PCM is different from the 05. FICM's will interchange.

The transmission is a plug and play; remove from one and bolt to the other.

2005 truck, use the 2005 FICM, PCM and Processor so they have the same Flash and talk the same language. If you had an early 04, which you did not, the ICP would have been under the turbo.
