Got a vibe. Had a vibe from day one. Replaced all ujoints and carrier bearing, while thinking to myself that the old ones look terrific. Borrowed my buddies angle finder because I loaned mine out to my kid 8 years ago. History.
I found an angle of 2 degrees on the diff joint, and 3.5 degrees on the carrier joint. It looked to me like the diff had a lessor angle, so I confirmed it. I'm thinking I want at least a half degree more at the diff than the carrier for axle wrap and maybe as much as 2 degrees.
So I'm looking for 2-3 degree shims, 3"x6". Steel. Where have you guys been getting them?
