Went to leave for work this morning & got a "low tire pressure" warning...checked at work (isn't it always the last tire you check?), going to have to keep an eye on the left rear..was down to 45
with all the money we spend on these rigs, why can't put in a tpms system that would allow us to see WHICH tire is low?
has anyone heard of, or used any aftermarket system that allows monitoring of INDIVIDUAL pressure? (ultimately, it'd be nice to get a 4 axle system that would "communicate" with the trucks (very basic) system, but also allow monitoring of my RV axles as well)
TPMS are only good for one thing and that's a sudden pressure drop while driving, that way hopefully it should give you enough time to pull off the road before you destroy your tire. You should make it a habit to walk around your truck everyday and visually inspect your tires and at least once a week put a pressure gauge on them, these magnesium and aluminum rims like to develop rim leaks because of corrosion, they'll need more attention as they get older, you'll see your TPMS actually go on and off every few days once you hit about 10 years of, if they haven't been maintained.
In my wife's 2013 Taurus and my son's 2016 Edge, the tpms system does show the pressure for each tire. Not sure what the message would say if one of the tires was low though. My 2011 F350 has the tpms, but I don't think it shows it tire by tire. I use old snowtires as my summer tires though and don't even have the tpms valves in them.

Same with my Mustang not sure how accurate it is though, the F250 is just a general warning best I can tell....
The information is there, but the display is general. My head unit displays the individual tire pressures because it hooks into the ODBD II connection.
I am only recently able to confirm this due to a debacle with tpms sensors missing...
