Apparently while cleaning my truck i noticed this connection loose. I don't know where it goes but here is the problem. When i start the truck it doesn't start all the way. Then when it did start it sounded fine until i put it in gear (manual) it sputtered like hell. I thought i got some water in there somewhere so i replaced the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, valve cover gasket. All of this from cleaning the engine. Oh, yeah i only cleaned the engine because i was replacing the hoses to my power steering pump. the harness is a thick bundle that goes from left to right to the fender wall where there are a lot of connections. Off of this bundle is a single tributary harness with a two prong female connector. This tributary connector is my delima.
where would that be located? I don't remember taking a connector off anything related to the power steering. As a matter of fact, the new pressure hose included a hole for a connection, but if it was't used, a plug came with it. I used the plug because i didnt have what it is was used for.
No, I haven't pulled any codes. I figured someone would know off hand. it may not go to anything that i use. I saw it dangling and am curious. As many times i have been under that hood, i don't remember seeing it there like that
In order to add a switch you will need a pressure line that has the hole for the switch. It really doesn't do much. It may throw a code when you pull codes but won't set off a CEL. I would just ignore it at least keep it where it won't get snagged by something.
Is your issue still present?
I would make sure you didn't get water under the distributor cap.

The new pressure line i replaced the old one with has a hole for a switch. I plugged it with the provided plug because my old line didn't have one (a hole or a switch). I haven't had codes pulled on this vehicle since I bought it over 10 years ago. I really need to pull them though because there is some weird stuff going on, but "Bertha" has been my ride or die truck. "Ruby" is down for a transmission replacement (2002 Ford Taurus, AX4N tranny). As far as the sputtering issue, I went back and checked all of the electrical, i.e. distributor cap, spark plugs, wires, etc to see if any water was present. I also added water remover to the tank. She seems to have overcome the sputtering issue so I think she is good to go now.
