So I bought a pretty in shape 92 f150. Dd. And toy. Don't need it drivable all the time but would rather not need my wife to drive to work and back.
I started with a tune up. I'm not really involved in mechanics but I can wrench here and there and have a lot of tools.
Truck is a 92 f150 xlt reg cab. 2wd with 5.0 e40d automatic.
So far :
Changed oil to royal purple 10w30 and filter.
Change front and rear brake bled the lines.
Replace both rear wheel cylinders.
Flushed radiator.
Changed transmission fluid and filter.
Installed a drain plug on 40d auto.
Changed both u joints on drive shaft.
Changed spark plugs and wires.
Changed fuel filter.
Changed diff fluid.
Installed. Shallow mount sub 10" behind seat and changed bothdoor speakers.
Replaced ignition lock cylinder.
Replaced weather stripping on both doors outside and inside.
To come:
Adding headers
Adding flow master American thunder exhaust.
Adding after market projector headlights.
Adding after market led brake lights.
Adding cold air intake.
Had: so sort of leveling kit on it not sure the size it's one of those in the coils deals.
What else is normal to need maintained on these trucks that I haven't done so far?
Do I need to get it tuned after all the adding?
Or can I do this myself?
Search the six liter tuneup on here. I followed it word for word and it really woke my 5.0 in my 94. Not even the same engine compared to how it was running. Bumped my mileAge to 15-18.
