I have a 93 f150 4x4 302 5 speed. Set out to replace slave cyl and clutch disks. Removed drive shafts, transfer, rear tranny support, six bolts around top half of tranny going into block, 2 small bolts on flywheel shield, starter. have tranny on jack, but it won't back away from engine. Is there something else holding it on?

There are 2 dowel pins aligning the bell housing to the motor. They often are corroded into the bell housing and are hard to get unstuck. There are usually a couple of spots around the bell housing you can stick a bar and pry the bell housing loose. Be sure to steady the transmission on the jack when prying on it. The dowel pins are absolutly necessary so be sure they go back in.
