This one is really nice despite the bling. It will be interesting to see what it goes for:

Wonder what's going on with Rod's Kruithoff's former F-2/R32-4 truck. First this was sold to a Michigan (iirc) guy who appeared to be a small dealer, then it was sold on eBay for about $38,000, and now it's being auctioned by Dana Mecum. Rod's Glenmist Green F-3/R32-4 was also on eBay a few weeks ago but missed reserve. Maybe it's next to be auctioned. Haven't seen his F-1/LD7-4 or Ranger for sale yet. Stu

I was watching an episode of Chasing Cars the other and they were in Rochester Hills MI at an all American car show and RM auction, I think. One of the vehicles up for sale was a '48 Mercury pickup. The host noted that there weren't many of these trucks made. I thought maybe since this was in Rod's general location it was his. The auctioneer was telling the host that truck was restored by one of the guys that works on their cars, he did it all in his garage. That didn't dive with the little I know about Rod. They also had a good shot of the front hub cap. I compared it to a picture I have of Rod's truck and the hub cap was different. I then checked the show information and the episode was first shown in 2009. That I assumed was before Rod started selling oof his trucks. I just found it interesting that there were two almost identical rare trucks in the same area. In the 30+ years I've been I playing with these trucks I've only seen 2-3 '48-50 Mercury trucks in person. I would really like to own one some day?

BTW, I think the host of the show got the truck for around $25K, a steal IMO.

His Merc will be sold too, you can bet. His green '51 F-1/LD7-4, and the Merc were the only two that were restored to as original condition (to my recall). The Ranger got similar dress up like the two R32-4s. Stu
