2000 ccsb with auto and 7.3. Currently running 35's with 3.73 ratio's. Thinking of going with a set of 4.30 that one of our fellow brothers has for sale but wondering if that is too much gear for my setup. Very little hauling with some highway travels. Mostly just in town stuff. What if I stepped up to 37's?. Motor is stock with no tuner. Opinions please.
Changed mine from 3:73 to 4:30's and made a big difference. I do tow a 36' 5th wheel but even empty with the stock tires...it runs great. Have noticed any big difference in fuel mileage(I have a V-10) when empty and better mileage towing.

From what I've read 4.10s make a nice combo with 35"s and a 7.3, still leaves you with enough RPM to travel at higher highway speeds, 4.30s may have your setup over revving that 7.3 on the Interstate. If you do go with 37" then I think you would be good with the 4.30 gears.
4.30 and stock-ish tires make the V-10s very happy, I run 35"s under my 6.8 and 4.88 gears give it an effective 4.39 ratio. My setup handles the towing chores for our 11,000lb TT very well, but the V-10 has almost twice the RPM range as the PSD.
