Hey all, I have a quick question. My Ex is an 01 4x4 v10 with 3.73s. I was informed today that I will be pulling a double jetski trailer from Illinois to northern Wisconsin in mid July. The weight is about 1800lbs. My question is, will I even notice this thing behind my beast? Will this trailer even affect mpg? Just curious.
Stock size tires? I doubt you'll know they're back there except for the random glimpses in the side mirrors. Just watch the speeds, those small trailors like to whip pretty easily, and most of the ones I have seen lack any real suspension outside of tire sidewall for cushioning.
The small tires tend to have a much lower speed rating than one would imagine as well, check the sidewalls for a speed rating either via letter or actual speed. I had to upgrade a trailer I used to have to 15" wheels to get tires that would take long trips over 55mph, the stock 13's were good for 50.
Matt gives very good tire advice above, those small trailers seem to have tire ignored more than the bigger ones. Always good to give ST tires a close inspection before a big trip.
That load should just be enough to let you know they are back there, it shouldn't really have any negative impact on you're performance or economy. You may actually get better mileage from driving a little slower with the PWCs back there.
Yep, stock tires on both the trailer and the truck. Copy on the speed rating I'll check and see what it says and try to stay right around that. Thanks for the info. I didn't think that light would matter much to these trucks. He'll I can probably get 1500 lbs of friends inside comfortably.... lol
You won't know you are pulling it until you look at the lie meter on the overhead console. I pulled a bobcat across town once. Didn't know it was there until it was time to stop

Very cool! Sounds like a good time! I know the place some, I haven't spent a lot of time in Hayward. We will be over in Minocqua mid july camping again.

Now THATS funny, my x-wifes family owns property on the twin lakes in Hazelhurst......(kinda se of bear lake and west of lake kaubashan) lol
Just remember it is back there when pulling into gas stations and backing up. 1,800 pounds is nothing. Also keep your speeds down as most trailer tires are not rated for high speeds.
