My 95 F-150 has suddenly aquired a nasty launch shudder. When leaving a stop sign at any speed up to about 7 to 10 Mph the truck shudders and shakes. It will continue to shake at slop speeds, less than 10mph. The trucks a 95 F-150 with the 302, 4x4, 8.8 rear end and a six inch lift. I checked u-joints already and that wasn't it.
Any help would be appriciated.

i have a 6" lift on my '87 and my vibrates a lot from the driveshaft because i havent gotten a longer one yet.that might be it or that you might not have low enough gears in the truck to move the tires you that your runnin, could just be the truck tryin to get goin with the extra stress from the tires.

Sounds like a transmission problem to me, I checked your gallery and it says you have an automatic.
Which one do you have, I think the AOD has problems with shuddering. I’m guessing you have the AOD-E, I’m not sure why the transmission shudders, try asking in the transmission forum.
Does it feel like a transmission problem?

Did the vibration start when you installed the lift? If so, it is probably the driveshaft if it is not modified. It is critical to keep the u joint angles equal and not much more than 3 degrees on a shaft with a single u joint at each end. With a 6 inch lift you really need a double cardan CV joint at the transfer case end of the shaft and set the rear u joint angle to near zero. If you have a 2 piece shaft then the CV should go at the support bearing.

Actually it was loose u-bolts. I've never had a problem with vibration and have about 10000 miles on the lift. i have just the single u-joint on both ends with the stock driveshaft. No vibration normaly, thats what bothered me. somehow it slipped past me that i forgot to re-tighten the rear ubolts after having the axle out a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for all the ideas.
