1979 Ford Bronco Custom Build Thread

Hello Guys and Gals,

I have a 1979 Ford Bronco Custom. I have owned this Truck/SUV/Station Wagon for a little over 10 years now. I use to own a 1978 Bronco prior to this one. Fun fact Both of them are considered "SW" (Station Wagon) on the pink slip so that's why i said that I absolutely love it. Although i dont drive it much. I have maybe put 10-15k miles on it over the years. The way you see it is how i purchased it. I have done maintenance to it over the years but i haven't changed much about it. Its a true time capsule into the 80s. Enough rambling from me though.

NP205
Dana 44 up front
9 Inch in the rear
Unfortunately has a body lift.
35' Super Swampers

I do have plans for the old truck. I recently was going to redo the top end. I purchased a bunch of parts that are just sitting in my garage. The more i dig into it the more work i see it needs though so i kinda have been holding off on the install. Im thinking i need to pull the motor and change ALL the seals and gaskets not just the top end.

The items i purchased were:
edelbrock intake manifold
edelbrock 2172 cam shaft
edelbrock timing chain set
edelbrock Carburator (im a Holley guy so this will be my first edelbrock carb)
new gaskets and hardware
water pump
thermostat and housing

Honestly i cant remember the rest but i have more parts sitting in boxes waiting to be installed.

Thank you buddy. You are actually the only person to ever respond to this thread. I was starting to second guess my trucks looks lol. My other build thread has had quiet a bit more activity on it. I’ll be updating this one in a couple months so stay tuned.

Nice Bronco, I would go with a Holley though.

In all my years I’ve always been a Holley guy. This is my first edelbrock carburetor. I only got it because I got a combo kit from edelbrock cam, intake and carb. They are supposed to work together as one of the best combinations for the 351/400M line up. The numbers seemed legit and worth a shot. Eventually I would want to get a Holley sniper efi set up.
