ok my 96 ranger has a cam shaft postiton sensor code, so i got a new one put it on and cleared codes and when i started it up the dang light came back on, and it was cheerping so i got it home and took it all a part and i need the shaft for the sensor. has any one done this before and how hard is it, ware can i find the shaft? would idiot zone carrry it?
The Haynes Manual has a good description of the CPS and instructions on how to remove the CPS synchronizer/shaft. Keep in mind that a special tool must be used during the installation of the replacement synchronizer assembly, otherwise you may run into timing problems.
