hi all
i'am having a problem with the idle on my 89 bronco 2. when the temperture is hot around 90 degrees and when i drive 20 miles or more. then i shut the engine off and start it up the idle is very high like its sticking . i sprayed wd40 on the throttle cable but when it is very hot it still idles high. when i first start the engine it runs great the only time it does this is when its hot and i drve for awhile. any ideas please help.
Is the engine overly hot? If the ECT signal indicates to the PCM that the engine is too hot, the PCM will increase the idle speed in an effort to cool the engine off.
