My A/C quite working on me and before taking it to have it looked at I thought I would check it out myself. Glad I did, found a wire harness that somebody poked with a light tester, three of the four wires rotted. I've tried looking up diagrams to find the replacement harness/pigtail that I need but I'm not having any luck. The part I need is a 4 wire pig tail that plugs into a steel line down by the pump. I cut the plug out, pushed the pins out and rigged 4 new wires into it and put it back on and the A/C is working again so I now this is the problem. But the way I have it is definitely not right. Any help with a part number is greatly appreciated.
Try this part number in Google for a picture to see if it's what you are looking for.
WPT169
I think that's it. I figured out last night it was called the cycle switch connection. Thanks alot. Gonna pull mine out in the morning and compare to that pic. Hopefully I can find one today after work. Thanks again.
Found the part number I needed. None of the local parts stores could get it, so I went to the Ford house. Part number WPT 182. $49.87
Glad you found it! For the future, if you don't need the part right away, check ebay for parts like this. Some people on the forums don't like ebay but if you are careful and know what you are looking for you can get OEM Motorcraft parts for a very good price.
Your going to have to download you copy from the link if you want the newer catalog.
My PDF editor is not happy about something and keeps making the file too large.
