Need truck transported

Anybody have a good company that can get Henry in SC and bring him here to NJ? Horseless Carriage wants way-y to much money.

Thanks.

Later!

How far away is it Ed? Why not drive it?
Or rent a trailer? Others have told U Haul
that it was a smaller car or truck and did
it just fine. I like to use there dolly and
have pulled full size cars and trucks from
Washington coast to western Colorado just
fine. Food for thought.

Road trip? I rented a U-Haul for my F3. Was WELL within size and weight limits of the trailer.

U-Haul wouldn't allow me to rent for that truck because my tow vehicle needed to be bigger according to their "parameters". Even though my trucks specs said otherwise.

I rented it for a vintage Mustang and they had no problem with this combo. You can drive there and rent the trailer one way to save gas and rental time.

I can't drive that far anymore. After a career in sales that accounted for 60,000 plus miles a year since 1975, I find it hard to stay awake on trips over 1-2 hours.

Without knowing the exact points in SC and NJ, I'd say that's a 700 mile haul. Not uncommon to pay $1 a mile for a haul like that.

I remember there used to be a guy over on the Ford Barn that moved stuff like ours around. He would post where he was and where he was headed and kept that updated. I think he had a setup where he could haul 2 or 3 at a time if need be. He seemed to stay busy, was real reasonable, and depending on how much of a hurry you were in, could usually accommodate you. He seemed to have a good reputation. I think he was on the AACA forums too.

Don't know exactly what they would charge, but I recently used Western Sky Haulers, they are based out of Montana, family owned. They did the job right and went the distance to do so. I highly recommend them. I actually used them after someone mentioned them on here. You can see loading/unloading pictures with them if you click the build link in my signature, should take you right to it.

$1 per mile seems about right.

You get what you pay for, if you cherish the truck I wouldn't put it in hands in people who don't understand that. Going to cost a whole lot more to fix something if they break it than it would have to pay to have it moved right in the first place.

I bought my first car trailer just so I wouldn't give someone else the money. Best purchase I ever made. 10 years later it was wore out and had to buy a new one

Sounds like a great opportunity for a road trip...if you can't make the drive yourself, then bring a co-pilot. School's out, I bet there are a number of kids that would love to make the trip with you.

I used a guy from Raleigh to move my F3 about 8 months ago. Enclosed transport and very happy with the service. I PM'ed you his contact info. If you are patient and can wait until he can combine loads he should give you a pretty good deal.
