V10
That's possible but your cab/engine options are limited. I tried to build an F350 single rear wheel V10 and it would only let me get an extended cab. To get a V10 with a crew cab I had to get an F450 which makes it a dually. So there are limitations but it can be done.
Why would you want to? It's an antiquated motor compared to the 6.2 and the 6.2, despite the lower ratings, will outpull it.
I guess. My last truck was a 09 V10. LOVED it. I never thought the 6.2 was a valid replacement until I saw youtube videos dragging the same trailer up a grade. I was shocked that the 6.2 had more grunt.
I just wonder about that video, nothing against a 6.2 cause it may just be my next truck but the v10 has to pull like a freight train. Maybe I'm wrong who knows

I have a V-10 in my 2005 F-250, my down fall is towing with manual transmission, however since reading on this forum and finding out that they love to SCREAM, I no longer try to always shift at 3000 rpm and have let it wail to 4000 and I can make it up hills at about 45 mph towing my loaded atv trailer (7000 lbs ) and I do love this truck, I just wish it wasn't antiqued, lol.
I'm sure the 2017 6.2 with 4.30's and the power increase will be a great towing performance gain. I get the ones who complain/compare about the 6.2 vs v10, I also know almost all of the dissatisfaction is with 3.73's. I too have had a v10 and a 6.2.
And you'd be second to the top of the hill every time...LOL. No one is bashing the V10. The 6.2 just out pulls it. I owned a V10 and pulled very heavy with it and was very impressed. But it sucked more fuel and looses on the hills compared to the more modern design of the 6.2. Lots of folks think it's better because it's bigger. My Ram V10 was bigger but my Ford V10 would outpull it big time. Size no longer equates to performance.
Rodney, given that the V10 makes significantly more torque and about 20 less horsepower; makes it torque at a lower RPM, and shares the 6R140 now, I find it hard to believe it would not out pull a 6.2.
If a V10 was available, it would surely not cut diesel sales in half. Back when V10 sales were up, the diesels didn't make the power or torque they do now. At this time, the diesel output is vastly superior.
No matter what kind of bump the 6.2 gets, it will continue to make its torque and horsepower at a high RPM level. I think it is a fine engine, but cannot compete with the PSD.

You can find it hard to believe if you like. It's a proven deal. Same trailer, same hill, same gearset, similar miles on the trucks. V10 looses. Guys here on FTE did some unofficial testing back when the 6.2 first came out. There's youtube videos somewhere if you search. Could it be the worst V10 and best 6.2 ever? I suppose. All I'm saying is that you seem to do a lot of arm chair engineering like with the 450's ride being worse. I go with real world results. Unless everyone is just conspiring to confuse me...LOL. Maybe the 6.2 had taller blocks that helped the win. Ken?
The V10 was not discontinued because it hurt diesel sales. It was discontinued because it can not meet current emission requirements for pickups.
