SCT X4 problem

SCT X4 problem
I recently bought an SCT X4 from a guy and came to hook it up and it said that it was married to another truck, and everything online told me to use the SCT software. I have a macbook as well as an older windows but the windows would stop responding and crash when I would try to update it. Is there any way to get the software on a mac?

I was told by 5 Star that any updates to the SCT would have to be done on a Windows based computer. Which puts the screws to me because all we have are Macs.
Not 5 Star's fault, SCT so far refuses to develop anything for another platform. I've got no problems with 5 Star, but I may have not made the purchase had I looked into this better.
