Order in Processing
The rep who is helping me is named Deysha. However, just do a search for FordService and send a PM.
Have you asked or seen how many trucks have a Vin that your dealer has ordered? Mine has like 8 or something all ordered in may, but only 3 have vins.

i ordered mine on 4/22 2017 f350 drw xlt 6.7.. ive questioned my dealer as to why i see so many people getting vins and mine is in processing still.they have no idea, and say those last.5 numbers you see here are not vins? i was told when i ordered the truck i should see it earliest august latest oct. now i was told, earliest will be nov to end of nov? this is my work truck and i need to up fit the truck with a body, leafbox and snowplow. this is making me nervous now.i talked to the online chat, and the lady was very helpful, but the only info she found was its in processing. its one of those deals that the truck that im replacing is on its last leg,im swamped with work and pressed for time!...i started looking into placing my order back in January.(dealer used a 2016 to start the truck build, then we added 2017 options i wanted) and as soon as the order banks opened i placed the order so it would arrive giving me plenty of time to upfit the truck...ugh...
Ford suppose to come out with some info about the delay of the production date.I am sure that because I can't order the 5 th wheel package on 4x2 .That don't make any sense .Come on Ford tell us what happen, somebody from Ford have to follow this forum.
Each dealer has their own stock ordering priority, meaning dealer to dealer may not be the same. At my dealer, for stock orders, he uses 21 priority for the trucks he wants asap. Since he knew I wanted my truck to be built early he gave me a 21. The other order he received a vin on was also a 21. As for the other ordered trucks in his system, he gave them a higher number. He said it did not matter which was ordered first, if there are several rigs in the system, Ford will take the lower number for that dealer.
It is also possible that an option on the truck can cause a problem, but we didn't really get much more into that.
If trucks were not ordered as dealer stock, they probably haven't been picked up yet by Ford.
If you were ordered as dealer stock, and still don't have a Vin, you have to wonder where the dealer put you in their system. Then comes the question as to how many early build trucks that dealer was allocated.
Like I stated before, my dealer was allocated 2, but last Thursday got a 3rd one picked up with a Vin assigned.
Hope this helps..
So I joined the forum to chime in. I've been reading for a couple months when I had a 2016 on order and decided to cancel for a 2017. A family member at a dealer (management level) has ordered me a truck. What he says (and take this with a grain of salt, as I'm an anonymous Internet person) is that his rep told him that retail orders (which mine is) come last. Stock orders come first. Some posts have indicated this. Everything he is hearing suggests that all the first round of trucks to be built (stock orders) will sit somewhere until around September having tests and "quality control" procedures run on them. I'm fine with waiting and having a retail order, so I"m doing that. There's no actual word on when delivery will occur. However, don't be surprised if those with a July build date still wait months to get the trucks. (Hopefully not.)
Of course I don't mind waiting since my 2007 F-250 still meets my needs and the sticker shock of a new truck is painful.
