Well, just like in real life some folks are hard to help, ulike real life, your words stay posted up pretty much forever. I've read post and gotten one idea only to reread later and get a different idea. Read replies carefully. I Read posts sometimes and think - this person should not be working on their own truck, but the other side of that coin is how do you learn if you don't get any experience.
I think, try to be helpful, don't be an a$$ (unless the other person make it clear that's how they want to communicate- then PM's may be a better idea) and in the end it's up to the other person to do as they will.
