I've got the same battery tender as Macrosill. I permanently mounted mine behind the power steering reservoir and hard wired it to the batteries. I have had no problems with mine. With my work schedule I might not be able to drive my truck for 3 to 4 weeks. Its nice to know I have fully charged batteries and have 1 less thing t worry about killing the FICM.
