With my long gone 94 F150 I made it the last 5mi's, barely, to the gas station once by swerving around like a drunk driver. It would pulse with power as the gas sloshed around in the bottom of the tank and coast in between.... Thinking back I would not recommend attempting this.

I did the same technique with my motorcycle. A person immediately offered me a ride and my bike was kept safe while I was gone. The impound yard fees were a bit high, I thought.
Yes it beeps and then the digital odometer displays "LOW FUEL".
Usually I click the button so it resets back to the odometer, and then it will remind me again about every 11-12 miles. Never pushed the button this time.
It first happened as I was about to get on the interstate in Orlando, and I immediately started thinking of which exits have gas stations with reasonable entry/exit (answer - none; lots of U-turns required in trafficky central Florida: especially with Rocko Bammy visiting the shooting victims yesterday)
So I hit the highway about 3pm and beat most of the usual 4:30-6:30pm gridlock.
During the next 45 minutes of driving I received more phone calls/texts/emails than usual... Next thing I know the engine sputtered a little bit going up a slight highway grade. I was hopeful that the downhill portion would solve my problem, but nay.
And for YEARS I kept a full 2gallon gas can tucked away, but not this time. And I have no memory of removing it.
It COULD be a memory problem but get checked out at the doc. You could have contracted C-Nile virus. I have it and it mainly seems to affect older aged people.
There is no cure. Not one that anyone can remember, anyway. :-)
