Charlie, that's a great career but means exactly nothing in this thread about the current state of using x-plan or getting a great deal in today's widely varying market.

Vole, X-Plan is right around invoice so the difference from invoice to X-plan is basically the same as the difference between invoice and MSRP. As to Canada, I don't know if X-Plan works the same (it would certainly seem an X-plan pin is a pin though), but it would only take you about two minutes to call your dealer or FoMoCo's toll free number and ask. Post up what you find out to help other Canadian buyers.

But the difference between sticker and invoice must be more than $4k on a $70k turck.
Employee pricing will come in on July and my local dealer told me that the $57k truck should be about $12k cheaper than sticker. And employee pricing is somewhere around X-Plan, not much cheaper.

I will ask my local dealer about X-Plan sometime next week. Last time we spoke I forgot to ask this, and the other day when I was there, he was out of office and his college did not know if it will work or not. And it`s weekend now, so I have to wait I guess

This doesn`t sound right, unless X-Plan = MSRP which is not.

No it is not Vole. Invoice is within dollars of x-plan. Go to edmunds.com and build and price your truck. They show invoice as opposed to x-plan and you will see that it is indeed only 4k or so under MSRP on a 70k truck. So, whatever your seeing as the x-plan price is indeed invoice. As to employee pricing, that is A-Plan NOT X-Plan and it is indeed much lower than invoice and also much lower than X-Plan. It would appear your dealer is giving you some bad info about the range of pricing between A-plan, x-plan, invoice, and MSRP.

I know that X-Plan is not the same as A-Plan, but I thought there is only a bit difference between these two.

If the employee pricing deal which is normally in July is the best offer I can ever get, than maybe I have to wait for that with my purchase ( next year, not this year ).

But I also have to check X-Plan + 0% financing option total cost and employee pricing deal + 4% finance option total. The financing benefit can make them almost equal.

Nope, it's a BIG difference between x-plan and a-plan. If you can get a-plan, I would certainly do it. It is more than double the discount off MSRP than x-plan is. Unfortunately, only a dealer can show a-plan pricing as far as I know. There is no place to do an a-plan build and price on the net.

All right guys, so it seems I have to do some more calculations with my dealer.

If the employee pricing deal is so much better than anything else, than why not everyone waiting for that deal? Well, not everyone, but most of the buyers..

Because employee pricing is only available to employees. It's rarely offered to the general public.

Well, that deal comes up every year I think. Noone knows when exactly ( except Ford ), but it comes for sure. I don`t know the US market, but as my dealer told me it will be available sometime July this year. I guess it will be pretty much the same next year.

It is about equivalent offer to GM`s current 20% off of MSRP. I think GM has employee pricing deal as well, I think it was around Nov-Dec last year.

It doesn't come up every year in the US and when it does, it has to be on an in stock vehicle. If you ordered, by the time it came in, the deal would be over.

That`s why my dealer offered that he can order the truck I want for stock, and when the deal comes, I can just walk in and do the paperwork. ( he said it`s no problem to order an average truck for stock, they can take the risk that I do not buy it at the end )

I will ask him if this deal comes every year or not.

BTW I just checked briefly, and the X-Plan is around $5k off and the 0% finance gives me another $8k off from the total cost, so these combined are about the same as employee pricing offer with standard financing, so I`m happy with that deal too.

That is a great deal if you're using financing!

On a $70k truck? Of course I use financing. If I had hundreds of thousands sitting on my account, I wouldn`t care about the deals, just buy the best whenever I want

A small edit to my calculation, because I used the full price of the truck as base for the finance, but I will put down about $30k, so the saving on 0% is only about $5k, but the combined deals are still about $10k less than MSRP.

Nah, you'd still search for the best deal. That's the best way to make sure that account stays full.

X-Plan website has it at $65467 net.
The MSRP number was on the order sheet. It is also the same number I came up with on the Ford website.
The X-Plan number is what I came up with on the Ford website.
I was planning on paying cash. But if I can't get a better deal and it is "0%" financing I might think about it.

As for any other pricing we need to keep the information coming. I would like to think that's why we are here, to learn from each other.

Thanks for all the information.

I agree DL and if buying now, I too would take 0% even though I plan to pay cash. Only if it doesn't exclude other rebates which is generally the case though. Since I won't be ordering until Jan/Feb there may be a rebate by then so that will likely be the way I go.
