AC recharge 1993 E350
Have a 1993 E350 with the 460 auto and it appears to need a recharge. A couple of questions, though.
Where is the low pressure port on this thing?
Would this normally use R12? Can I tell if there has been a conversion to R134?
Hoping to get to it this weekend.
Thanks,

The low pressure fitting on my 88 was tucked up under the cowling, just above the upper intake plenum. jim

'93 would most likely be R12, The switch to R134 came in '94, the low and high pressure valves are on the left (driver's) side, like right off the compressor, just below the oil dip stick.
If you can find a shop that "might" have some R12, you would be lucky.
Other wise, it's time to convert to R134.
There are many posts on this board dealing with the conversion.
Getting a can of re-fill from the parts store is out of the question, it will not work unless you have the system converted to R134.
