Been looking for a set of headers from my 1970 f250 camper special. everytime i think i found some, they say will not fit a camper special. what i wonder is , does anyone run headers in a camper special, what are they where did you get them ?? Both my manifolds are wore out and cracking, i dont really care about more horsepower or performance, i just want to get it quiet. I cant even hear my stero. So any info would help, thanks
I ran across the same problem with my '68 CS, 'will not fit camper special', however, after looking at it, the sway bar is nowhere near where the headers go on my truck. I know there's a major difference between a 68 and a 70, but you may see the room as well. Mine fit with plenty of clearance, and after 4 years, I'm having no problems.
Mostly body wise Freightrain ( ok, my bad, since I don't know the differences, I should have said "I'm sure there's major..." since the aoutmakers like to confuse me ) My sway bars mount forward as well, so I'm rather confused why they would even put a 'will not fit SC' designation on headers because of swaybars. I'm running Headman's as well, got em from Speed Merchant out here in CA a few years ago.

not to change topics but how important is the sway bar can i get rid of it without too much hassle ? still waiting hoping you find that part number 1970fef250
If you dump your front sway bar, your going to get alot of body roll when you corner, not really an advisible thing to do, it creates an unsafe driving condition. You have alot of weight in the engine and front end of your truck, the sway bar helps keeps it all under control.
The one thing I have never like was is why they make the headers end, where the collecter is right over the cross member. What a bear. then you have the aux gas tank and the turn you have to make to get it all on the passenser side of the truck , just some of my own nightmares GWB
I don't believe it is the sway bar that is the problem. The problem might be with the steering box. I believe (but i could be wrong) that the camper special models had a much fatter steering box that got in the way. While really tight, they did fit. Purchased them from Summit.

I don't have any sway bars on either my 68 or 72 f-250s and I really have never felt them unsafe. I have never driven a c/s to see the difference. When all the crap on the dash slides that is cornering too fast and I slow down.
Now the last f-100 I had definately needed them. It had way more body roll than the f-250s
