Turn signal lever replacement

My hi/lo beam function on my turn signal lever is stuck in the high beam position. I've purchased a new switch but am contemplating whether this is a DIY project or not. I've seen some videos that call for steering wheel removal and I won't no part of that. Does anyone have first hand experience on replacing this part?
