I'm currently struggling to be able to pull the EEC iv codes on my 1986 f150 302 EFI.
I've tried my innova code reader and no test will start. I have tested code reader, it works on another vehicle.
I have also tried the jumper wire method to make the light on dash flash. This again does not work.
The truck has power.
The motor will crank but not start.
I have no power to fuel pumps as well.
I have tested the power relay and this has 12v on both circuits with ignition on.
Here are the EEC-IV no-start diagnostics from the shop manual.
You will need a volt/ohm meter, they have you checking for voltages at specific locations, checking for shorts to ground, etc.
Notice that the EEC power relay, the fuel pump relay, the injectors and several of the sensors, they are all provided power by a single circuit and a short anywhere in that wiring is gonna take all that stuff out.
Notice also there is a fusible link up at the starter solenoid.
Let me know if you can't read any of these.... good luck and please keep us posted on your progress.
Chris - Reps for that - although something I did caused the note to send before I was ready. It was to read "Lot'sa work, well done!" rather than "Lot".
So, if I were to put this on my web site, then you/we wouldn't have to do the work again. OK? (That's the idea of a subroutine - write once, use many times. You get the reference, but many won't. Anyway, I'm averse to doing WORK! [Thanks to
