Yes, I have heard of it before and it seems to be expensive. However, if you search this forum, you will find a thread that talks about a couple of people who have done a fiberglass patch. I knew a guy that did one as a temporary fix and it held for several years. You might consider doing one of those just for insurance for your trip. Seems like the kit was about $45.

well from what I can tell it is just a fiberglass patch. The extra coin is probably for the materials they send you, and the detailed instructions that are include. I sure with a ton of extra work and time I could replicate what he has here for a fraction of the cost, but why reinvent the wheel. $400 is cheap when talking about leaking 7.3 pans, seems worth a try to me.
