COOLANT TYPE ?
duh
I was screwing down a new water jug. There on the new lid are new glyphs of an alladin type pitcher holding a yellow and a maroon fluid. The maroon pitcher has a black bar across it.
duh I thought, I have here a new gallon of maroon Dexron bought caws Dexron is more expensive than the Yellow Fluid.
A few cents more for an expensive rad, a few more chemicals....a good idea ...better fluid.
Ford thinks not. Is the maroon fluid destructive of the Ford cooling system and why ?
Maroon seems thicker.
any opinions on why or why not and should the maroon be drained out ?
BTW, my MG lost its hydraulics. Margie's ol man the mechanic looked at me waving his arms shouting.....'there's 3 different colors in there'....
duh. who knew ?
Read Gooch on diesel coolants. Man isn't impressed with Walmart coolants nor specifically Dex
Motor in my van is a 5.4 modular v8 SOHC.
