Air conditioning

I am thinking of adding ac to my F100 project, and I will use a under dash model.

What kits have you guys used, and what did you like or not like about the install.

My engine will be a 4.6 2V, and I still have the compressor from when I got it.

I'm going to use bits and pieces, including a modern compressor like you already have. My expert told me the most critical part is the condenser and that I should get the biggest one that will fit so the system will work well with the modern refrigerants.

I've done a couple of a/c retrofits that could apply to your situation. In the late 90's I installed a '91 Mustang 5.0 SEFI engine/trans/power steering/ a/c into a '64 Falcon, using all of the 5.0's pieces, but also an underdash evaporator and Falcon/Mustang radiator sized condensor and dryer. I got all the big bits and pieces from Classic Auto Air and had the hoses custom made locally. It cools the Falcon well and should work even better in the smaller F100 cab. I also used Classic Auto Air when adding a/c to my '66 F100. If you are using the same radiator as your former FE engine, CAA has a nice fitting condensor and dryer layout, and as long as the '65-'66 Falcon/Mustang evaporator doesn't take up too much room, that should cool your cab nicely. Hope this helps.

That looks great!!!!! I am putting A/C in my restoration as well and I chose to use Vinatge Air, they are developing a system for the 66 F100 specifically that will fit right up under the dash if you want to hide it as much as possible. I'm hoping its out this summer, I have quite a way to go on my project, I'm no where close to you, yours looks good keep stroking.......
