hey all ive been a member for a few years just never got online.
i have a 95 f250 2wd automatic, 325k running great. does not burn oil.
think i may have a injector going out. hotter it gets (warming up) i can feel a slight miss get worse. only at idle, seems to run fine and not smoke at idle or speed.
doing a zf5/4wd swap soon. also have a d60 front.
stock besides cat removal and BHAF
trans TC has slowly not been locking up over time. now it doesnt lock up unless i drive for awhile with my car trailer loaded, it trips the OD stalk light, shifts firmer and will only hold TC locked on empty or very light throttle, then unlocks.
replaced many sensors, tired of it. cant wait for my zf5
Bad injectors normally show signs when cold. Running worst when warm is s sign of a high pressure oil leak. I would suspect injector orings or IPR orings.
What color is the fuel filter ?
no idea. havent changed it yet. just bought the truck last october, being in northern california ive never had problems with water in fuel or bad quality fuel.
yeah i have receipts from the previous owner but after looking threw them i can see some are for a newer truck? he stopped answering my txts when i asked him about it. he had a SD truck so i think he gave me receipts for that truck to make it look better.
oh yeah forgot to say the exhaust back pressure valve does not work, not sure if he modded it but it never comes on no matter how cold it gets.
sometimes after sitting a bit when hot i start it back up and it runs like it has air intrusion to fuel for a few seconds, not bad... (ive owned IDIs) maybe its the high pressure oil leaking?
its a non-cali model so no damper on lift pump woohoo!
i want to buy a snap-on mt2500 for the truck. when i tried to buy one i ended up passing on it because it couldnt connect to my truck. ended up i stole the fuse for the data connector one day when a trailer light shorted out my brake light fuse. totally forgot.

so i started searching FPR stuff and why do i not have a pressure switch?
no check engine lights on. light comes on when i turn key to run position with all the other idiot lights... only light that stays on is ABS

Those switches are known for leaking. Slot of people just plug it. It won't turn the light on till the filter almost plugged sold. I wouldn't worry about that.
okay ill check it out, thanks for the help... yeah it doesnt get THAT cold here but it was in the low 30s in portland OR in december and it didnt work in the morning.
i had a early 99 and it seemed that thing would come on below 50*
also my MPG isnt great and my power isnt great. maybe the FPR is in need of R&R

ok thanks, yeah not worried. whoever plugged it did a good job.
when i have the AC on i can smell fuel so i want to take the filter out and reseal the drain. any other problem areas for leaks?

i kinda stopped calculating but usually towing cars or even empty (we all know the variation of diesel MPG is not high) worst13-14-15-16best(dont see 16 much unless no trailer and putting)
also kinda seems i get around 55-65miles per quarter of tank
and thats with a automatic with TC lockup issues
EDIT: i calculate by filling up and filling up again using GPS to check mileage
If you're going to pull the fuel bowl I'd clean and resell the whole thing and change the fuel lines. Clay at riffraff diesel will have everything you'll need.
okay, i can see the lines are new (previous owner replaced lift pump)
and i already bought the fuel drain o-rings, so i would need a FPR seal kit and....?

yeah i realize its a big engine and will never get great mpg. even after adding a BHAF and the cat delete (bought it with cat removed, still has stock exhaust) i cant hear the turbo make any noise at low speed (i barley hear it on the freeway climbing a grade)
is that from the stock flat downpipe?
