(Powerstroke Bucking Reason)..😁
. Alright, yesterday leaving work and on the freeway(traffic), even thru the city streets and streets leading to my home, the truck was bucking like no other. Think I scored a 7.2. Being a zf6, it was just awful to hold a steady slow speed in any gear without the bucking. So, I got home, motor/injectors hot and did Buzz Test..1-6 signed the same(#5 signed atad weak), 7-8 so were lord. So loud, you'd think the first 6 were on borrowed time.
. Can I conclude the bucking is attributed to a weak injector/s and that, it would spot and stumble over the course of driving yesterday, giving me that "boost"..?
How many miles are on the truck or injectors if they have been replaced?
For that many to go all at once I would think it would be an electrical issue, either a loose UVHC or the 42 pin harness connector. Had the 50 cent mod (or similar) been done to this truck?
The buzz test only tests the electrical part of the injector, hence the reason for me suggesting checking the electrical connections before dropping $$$$ on new injectors

I agree. I would also check the tin nut on the IPR.
Thanks... Should've included...50 cent done, o final injectors and 248k on the clock. Starts cold within 1/2sec, but about 2-5src when warm. New OEM IPR and ICP around 165k..ipr nut good n snug
I had that once. Truck acted like a gasser that was short a spark plug or two. Turned out that it was just one bad injector (despite that it was a reman that was *just* installed). Shop popped in another reman and things were good once again.
Aside, this is one of the examples of why I do not do reman injection stuff anymore.
Back on topic, what does a computer scan show? Within the realm of possibilities is a waterlogged IDM (especially if this suddenly set-in). Scanning the computer will help cut down on the guess work . . .
According to TP, and coinciding with other members numbers, all seem within reason. No water intrusion here in so cal. Weather been dry for awhile. I will say, this situation has been present for some time, but yesterday seemed to have been the worse. It comes n goes and usually "corrects" itself throughout driving, but not yesterday. Also, I know I'm down on boost/power, when you have the redline called and the best I get is 16.8#. Can watch the number climb after 11# to the 16-ish....i was starting to chalk it up to a clutch issue, but it doesn't slip...etc. Anyway, I need to get to the bottom of this before end of July when I tow to mammoth...
^^^ where over vc have been covered fit years and no codes besides the aih(soft code) and fuel pump ji/low circiut(soft code, probably because I have pump wired to switch, for wvo purposes but need to switch back to original style since no more wvo)

Weather was a 'severe clear' blue sky day when my IDM finally fell to the water that it had collected over the years Took 3 injectors with it
As mentioned, scanning the computer will help cut down on exploratory surgery. Even if there are no obvious codes (aka: the SES / CEL light coming 'On'), it does not mean that the computer is complaint free as not all of them set the light.
Also clean the TPS, it's free and may help. You've been running VO so it could be injectors. There was a guy in NJ that had that problem with 238's. He changed one or two out, really don't remember it's been a while, and all good. He running VO to.
Chet, I thought of the tps also, once out and about today. 2hrs of stop/go, behind idiots that should be walking than driving..etc, and not one hiccup.
. While waiting for daughter to leave school, idling like a dream, I give it some pedal and held around 1500. She would dive to 12ish, then at one time, spiked to 2k....
Chet..coincidently, it was around this time when I removed the tranny to install the new clutch, and all heck broke loose(pun intended). The TO fell apart, nothing left of the input bearing, shaft knarled and plastic pivot was broke...yeah, think I found the bucking reason, ket alone the clutch was glazed, chipped and cracked.
