Stay away from the 6912 black Hookers. Fitment isn't the greatest with the pipes on. If I ever do it over again it's getting shorties.

From my seat of the pants meter, a 4bbl carb AND dual exhaust with stock manifolds makes a nice increase. Some places let you get away with it though.

Thanks for your input! The seat of my pants meter is what I also go by so this makes it easy to relate to. Emissions aren't an issue where I'm from, so dual exhaust is the plan.

Ive heard many similar reviews. I ended up ordering the 89270 hedman headers.

Those look like long-tube headers also. I thought the consensus was that long-tube headers require modifications, run too close to the trans, etc and that short-tube headers are preferable?

My '84 351W (DS 2 ignition/2150 carb installed in '89 F250 body) now runs JBA shorty headers and dual exhausts with H cross-over. Reason for the headers was badly cracked manifolds. Sounds good and runs well but no great increase in power. Hopefully the planned switch to 4 barrel carb. will show some increase in power. The headers were spec'ed for later model 351W and have an extra port for emissions on the passenger side which is now plugged.

I went from having the stock rotted out exhaust that had a plugged muffler and two destroyed and horribly plugged catalytic converters to long tube headers and 2.5" dual glasspacks. There was almost zero increase in power until I had a 2.5" dual into 3" single muffler exhaust system made. That's when the power showed up. I did not find the headers made much of a difference other than a cheap replacement for rotten exhaust manifolds.
