Car to the right of the Model T in first pic is a Star, made by Durant Motors (1922/28). There's another Star in the 2nd pic.
Durant, when it was introduced, said it would be the same price as the T, but assembly costs pushed the price up.
It died in 1928, done in by poor sales. Durant Motors (founded 1921) died in 1932, done in by the Depression and Durant's lack of interest.
William C. "Billy" Durant, was the founder of General Motors, Chevrolet and Frigidaire.
Chevrolet was not a GM Division originally. When Durant introduced it...it sold like hot cakes.
Durant, who had lost control of GM in 1910, began to trade Chevy stock for GM stock and in 1916, walked into a GM board meeting and boomed out: "I CONTROL!"
In 1920, Durant lost control of GM for the last time. A long time multi-millionaire, he died broke in 1948.
To the left of the T in the first pic, is a 1942/48 Buick, Olds or Pontiac 'woody.'
Most of the cars in the pics are T's, the yellow car is a Buick.
I'm gonna guess that these vehicles are east of the Cascades in NE WA .. Thanks for posting these "trip down memory lane" pics.
