Telling 302 from 351w

Telling 302 from 351w
I have a guy that has 2 ltd and will let me have a motor. but we do not know if they have 302 or 351. How can I tell. I have the vin's off both but have not found any place to help me with the codes for the engine. thanks for the help

I believe the firing order (written on the intake manifold) is different for the 351W. Look into "firing order" in this forum, and someone was sure to have listed the two. If my memory is correct the Boss 302 and 351W have the same, and the 302/289's have a different one. Any other helpers out there that can throw in on this one?

351W the water neck goes straight up. the 302 water neck goes out toward the radiator at an angle. the most reliable way to to measure bolt-to-bolt on the intake. i believe the windsors are 9-1/4" inches, and the 302's are 7-1/2" if I remember correctly.
