I was at the dealer to order a 2017 F350 but the dealer can't find the 5th wheel package.Anybody know that package is standard or is option .What is the code for that.Thank you.

Kenv, the 53w is standard or option on 2017 F350 DRW.DEALER DON'T KNOW.

 

It is not standard on any configuration.

 

I noticed that you can't get the 5th wheel hitch what ordering the swb. That seemed odd to me. Maybe they don't want to be liable for broken rear windows if someone tows with a square front fifth wheel trailer?

 

Sure you can. You just can't order it on a 2wd SWB.

 

It doesn't show up as an option when I build a SWB crew king ranch 6.7 4x4.

 

I can build it with that option no problem.

 

As Karl said, you can't factory order the hitch kit with 4x2, however, the order guide shows "4x2 is available by dealer installation - consult your dealer". Perhaps your dealer (or maybe just your salesmen) isn't the right one to go to. Frankly I would probably not use Ford myself and just let my local 4x4 shop do the install because they do things for me at a lower labor rate than in house and then we can pick whatever brand parts you want.

 

The option to buy the 5th wheel prep is there; the option to buy 18K fifth wheel hitch kit itself is absent. You will find on the LWB, but not on the SWB.

 

Ah, I didn't know you wanted the hitch and thought you just wanted the prep. My mistake. I was assuming because most buy the Reese Elite without the Ford sticker on it to save money that you were just looking to order the prep. If you didn't know, the Ford hitch is just a re-labeled Reese Elite that Ford puts a part number on and marks up.

 

The 2011 2X4 I ORDER IT COME WITH 5TH PACKAGE WHY THE 2X4 2017 DON'T,THE 4X4 COME WITH ONE.IT IS A LOT OF LABOR TO INSTALL IT AFTER.The bed need to be remove and drill for the electrical connection and pucks.
