I recently received a message from an alleged moderator of this forum. It deals with oil changes and debunks the service recommendations suggested by auto manufacturers. It offers a lot of sites to bolster its credibility and it claims that the service recommendations made by auto manufacturers are designed to wear out engines before the hundred thousand mark.
Yes give it one of us please.......Why do you think it was a moderator.

I am led to believe that the speaker is a moderator because he claims to be one who is "sending by PM because I am a moderator," and he goes on to say that he prefers to be low profile.
In the absence of feedback I am left with two conjectures. First, some well-meaning moderator went too far in cautioning me regarding service intervals. Second, someone has hacked into the forum and is spreading misinformation.
If it's the first case, let's argue the point and use this forum to get to the truth. If it's the second case I should be notified because that means someone is having at my computer.
I believe that this is a need to know situation and look forward to some answers.
Hum, well at least I'm not the only one who always suffered with these types of issues and one reason I'm not here nor there when wanting to create topics about our van. My best suggestion is that you do like I do. If one is not happy with where they are, find another. Sadly I've tried my own advice and was banned by several of these forums in the process.
I have a feeling this Ford-TrucksForum as well as BlueOval are not willing to explore the transit Connect in more detail and this category could be dieing. So try FordTransitConnectforums.com after all it is the largest transit Connect community other than FordTransit.org in Europe. So if you're on tumblr or twitter, I'm there, look me up.
Thank you for the offer. However, we have different philosophies regarding community. I expect to not always get what I want from any particular community, whether that's a family, neighborhood, or forum community. When I am unhappy in a community, I try to resolve the issue and in the process sometimes find that I am just wrong and I try to change my disposition. Sometimes I think I am right and I try to change the community. That's where I'm at on the issue I'm currently having with this forum.
Also, I have found this forum very helpful in dealing with my questions and issues regarding my TC. I think it's pretty neat to have various members respond to my problems AND also have Ford representatives chime in and help. In short, I'm fairly happy here.
Good luck with your forum. I will probably drop in once in a while just to see how things are going and to keep abreast of how your Connect project is advancing.
I would venture to guess most people buying the Transit Connect don't think of it as a truck, especially those looking for customization etc. Most Connect owners probably find this forum by searching and seeing that we do in fact have topics regarding the vans. I watch the forums nearly daily and rarely see topics unanswered by someone.
It looks like George assumed Tim is looking at it, and I see no confirmation from Tim that he noticed the email. I would say a moderators job isn't to email folks "junk mail". If beneficial information is found it would be posted in the forums, possibly with a sticky.
