Ac compressor cycle at idle
04 F250 Diesel, I am the original owner . AC has always left a little to be desired but gets the job done when you are moving. I'm wondering if it is normal for the compressor to stay engaged at idle I.e. never cycle? I know mine has never cycled at idle and thought this was odd but maybe a function of the slow idle. If I increase idle speed just a hair the compressor starts cycling . I'm sure I could charge it to the point that it would cycle at idle but wanted to see what the normal behavior is before I go down that path .

Most likely it is kicking out because the low side pressure is too low. It probably needs some refrigerant added. You should get low and high side pressures (while running) and post them back here so people can be more helpful.
Also, there is a cooling, heating, AC section on here and when I had an AC issue they were really great with helping me out so you may want to post to that too.
