Ride Lines

So this is a rant- at Silvr dollar city this weekend and family's were having 1 person wait in line then when they got close to the end of the line they would call the whole family up and they would cut in line. While waiting for the trail for 35 minutes 4 people did this and created 32 new people in line ahead of us. I was pretty upset and let the crowders know about it. Then we had to wait for the next train because there wasn't enough room on that one-- another 20 minutes.

Noiw the excuses were- but they were riding another ride and I didn't want to wait for them-- and "but my kids shouldn't have to wait in such a long line" To which I replied- if you get a not from each and every person in line behind us saying its ok then its ok. (Which made everyone around us chuckled)

It was hot and the lines were long - they didn't EARN the right to cut in front of me. If someone was old and feeble- or had a very little child or disabled I probably wouldn't have said anything. But these ungrateful brats stuck their tounge out at us, and gave us the bird- as their train pulled away.

I spoke to the conductor and other guy working the gate and they made them wait in the office for as supervisor when they got off the train. They were still there when our train ride was over--- waiting :-)

Ride lines at Disney world were pretty long, there were some rides we didn't get to ride, but we had my mother-in-law in a wheel chair, due to her knees and ankles. Disney employees kept suggesting we take the handicap routes which would save us time standing in line. It was like a fast pass. rather than waiting in line we went and scanned our tickets, then they told us when to come back. It didn't give us enough time to go do something else, it just gave us a chance to go get out of the sun a little. we often didn't use the handicap line unless the employees recommended it. We also ran into the one person holding the line for a group of anywhere from 2 to 15. The one or two of about 15 was pretty disturbing.

Maybe they should pass out lead weights of approximately the same weight as each person you are holding the space for and you have to move them ahead each time the line moves. So, if I'm hold spots for 15 people, I have to move a variety of weights that go from 40# to lets say 300#. The weights stand in for the people I'm holding spots for. If I can't move the weights, the spot is lost and people go around.

I personally don't know what the solution is. I do however feel that there needs to be a good solution.

It is one thing to hold a spot while a family member runs kids to the bathroom or is keeping them out of the heat. It is something else when you hold it for a bus load of people.
