I have a leaking vent hose line at the mid-tank. The pressure lines
seem to be OK. The rear tank is OK.
Any suggestions as to what the cause of this problem might be?
Do you now where the leak is exactly?
Does it leak all the time, just when you fill it up, or just when you run it?
Has the tank been dropped lately?
When did this begin?
Whew, is this a game show so many questions!!!
Thanks for the response Madman
The leak just started and seems to be a slow drip
comming out of the overflow or vapor line [rubber hose line].
One thing I have noticed is gas filling up the front tank from the
rear tank. I've been reading over the Chiltons and thought it might
be the FDM module. Who Knows?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Jan-02 AT 01:24 AM (EST)]There is a FORD recall out on this "Fuel Tank Crossflow" problem. Yes the problem is the FDM. There is a check valve in there that is failing and there for allowing fuel to flow INTO the tank. I had the same problem, as well as many others here. I had it fixed before I found out about the recall. Ford refunded the cost of the repairs to me. Talk to your local dealer and don't take any bull from them either! I had mine fixed right away. Something about driving around with a pressurized, leaking fuel tank did not appeal to me
Thanks for the heads-up on the recall notice. hopefully Ford
will take care of this potential hazard. Believe me I don't have high hopes but I'll give it a try anyway.
Thanks for the post.
